Basketball: DBB-Team in WM
Basketball national coach Gordon Herbert can use NBA professional Dennis Schröder in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
"I spoke to him two or three days ago. He wants to play in the Juni window," said the Canadian in Cologne on Friday as part of a press conference on home European Championship (September 1 to 18) about the key player from Braunschweig.
The selection of the German Basketball Federation (DBB) meets hosts Estonia on the way to the 2023 World Cup on June 30th and on July 3 in front of its own audience in Poland. So far, the DBB team has lost only one of four games and the best prospects for progress.
Schröder's contract with the Houston Rockets expires, his future in the NBA is open. Nevertheless, the 28-year-old wants to run.

Herbert once again emphasized the importance of the game maker, who already signaled him in autumn that he wanted to play "100 percent" at the Eurobasket with the venues of Cologne (preliminary round) and Berlin (final round).
"We need a team first, but we also need individual class," said Herbert. And Point Guard Schröder could make the difference.
