Beckenbauer Foundation wants to help Ukrainians

Franz Beckenbauer is very close to the war in Ukraine.

"These pictures and news that reaches us from Ukraine are simply terrible. Many people die, are violated or have to escape traumatized - from their homeland," said the honorary play guide of the German football national team the club magazine "51" in the interview.

"Fortunately, solidarity with these people in the western world is very tall, and when many people will help, we will be able to relieve the unimaginable sorry of the refugee, at least as well as it is somehow."

In May, the Franz-Beckenbauer Foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary. The decor also wants to help Ukrainians. "According to their possibilities, the foundation will help these people in need in individual cases, especially people with disabilities or sick people," said the world champion as a player in 1974 and trainer 1990.

Beckenbauer tries to preserve a positive look at the world. "In view of the many bad news from all over the world and especially now from Ukraine you could easily get the feeling that the individual reaches nothing. We would like to counteract this resignation with the Foundation: Everyone can do good - everyone in the context of his possibilities", said beckenbauer. "I do not want to imagine any world of the desecutted, in which nothing has progressed, because everyone sees himself, you can not reach anything. I myself have experienced in my life often enough, what you can do with passion for his goals involved."
