BBL: FC Bayern defies Corona
Despite a corona outbreak in the team, Bayern Münch's basketball players have sovereignly defended their spreadsheet.
Bayern won against Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt 72:53 (39:18) and thus continue to be in front of the Telekom Baskets Bonn. The Rheinlanders won the Basketball Lion Braunschweig with 95:77 (53:47). Alba Berlin also remains on top. The Berliners won against the Crailsheim Merlins with 106: 74 (47:39).
Before the bay of Bayern, there had been many discussions. Because the Munich nine had a positive player tested on the Coronavirus, they had submitted an application for game laying. This had been rejected by the league, which had taken care of the Bavaria for annoyance.
"Our lawyers look at that. I think it's wrong, that we have to play today," said Bayern Managing Director Marko Pesic before the game at "Magenta Basketball Lion". "I do not ask for a Lex Bavaria, I just want to protect my players," Pesic said.
Despite the numerous failures, Bavaria still had a decent team that had no trouble with the Frankfurt. The hosts decided the first quarter of 19: 4 for themselves and thus quickly caused clear conditions. "I think we laid the BBL logic things on the table. But if one does not want to listen, you listen to talking. Karma is undefeated," said Bayern-coach Andrea Trinchieri after the game.
In the table cellar, the EWE Baskets Oldenburg celebrated the third victory in the fourth game under the new coach Ingo Freyer. Oldenburg won against the Mitteldeutsche BC with 110: 93 (56:42) and thus left the descent ranks.
