French basketball
The French Revolution was successful: With the Olympics in Paris 2024, the preliminary round in basketball is not held as planned in the "Arena Paris Sud 6" on the fairgrounds of the metropolis. Officially, the Organizing Committee and the World Association of Fiba gave technical studies as justification for the step.
Previously, however, the basketball stars of the Equipe Tricolore had rang violently against the plans. "Ceiling too low, hall not suitable," Twittered Evan Fournier from the NBA Club New York Knicks. "I will not play in a hall in whom I throw my head when throwing. So it does not make sense," wrote Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz).
"Do you really want to leave the best team Paris of the event in this location? I do not know who says that, but you have to worry about the basketball," says Nicolas Batum. The pro by the Los Angeles Clippers pointed his appeal to the OK, whose boss Tony Estanguet and the Fiba.
The OK now informed that the latest studies on light were not satisfactory. The search for a new location has begun.
